Apple and Brie Grilled Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 cranberry and orange bread from Au Pain Doré
- ¼ cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (for the apple mixture)
- 60g of brie cheese
- 1 apple, sliced into approximately 1 cm thick slices
- Chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon of butter
- Maple syrup (for the milk & egg mixture and for garnishing)
Preparation
Cut 6 slices of bread, approximately 1 inch thick.
In a bowl, mix the milk, egg, and a generous drizzle of maple syrup and whisk. Set aside.
Cut the cheese into slices, approximately 2 inches in size, and set aside.
Melt the butter in a medium heat pan, then add the apples and pecans. Cook until they are golden. Pour in the teaspoon of maple syrup and cook for an additional minute.
Heat a second pan with butter. Using tongs, dip your bread slices into the egg and milk mixture, then place them in the pan. Flip halfway through cooking.
Place 2 slices of brie cheese on one slice of bread, then add some of the apple mixture. Place the second slice of bread on top to form the sandwich and cook for a few more minutes.
Serve your grilled sandwich topped with maple syrup and the apple/pecan mixture.
